There is no accurate way until the baby comes out and the doctor declares the sex. Even ultrasounds are not 100% accurate. Unless you are willing to have an amniocentesis, which carries a risk of miscarriage and doctors will only do if a fetal defect is suspected.

The only other way to tell is by amniocentesis.
Amniocentesis is usually done between weeks 15 and 18 to determine whether your baby has certain types of birth defects. Amniocentesis can also determine the sex of your baby.

There are many miths out there and all are based on someones previous attempts. Truth is that the only way to be sure is to have an ultra sound at about 20 weeks. if you don't like that option, just buy alot of greens and yellows. go for the unisex purchases. God bless this new family!

Besides ultrasound, there is no way to tell the sex of a fetus. So next time some screwball weirdo approaches you, and tells you that you're going to have a girl because of the food you're eating.....backhand them....for me....please.

some people say that if the heartbeat is high its a boy if its low its a girl also if you carry baby high its a girl and if you carry baby low its a boy. also it is a myth that old people and very young kids have good instincts and ask them and they might know
but just so you know this is all stuff that i have been told by many people

Well, if the baby carried high, supposed to be a girl. If it carries low, supposed to be a boy. I have also heard, if you take a sewing needle and tie a string and sort of hang it over the baby, you know the moms belly. if it starts to swing side to side, it is a boy, if it swings in circles, it is a girl.

Some people use the dangling of a ring on a string..........I'm not sure HOW they use it, but they do.

Good luck,
