My relative is very charming , sociable and has completed her management education., after doing advanced course in English Literature. She is in her late twenties and is from a good educated Hindu family. But she is somewhat overweight. She is also well employed and earning a fairly good salary.Nowadays , it seems, all qualities become secondary to a girl being ' tall & slim'. Her parents are getting really worried as they would definitely like to see her married and settled ,reasonably well.
Suggestions / advice / proposals are welcome , with details. Thanx.

She's a woman in her late 20's and seems very mature, so let her be. I always tell all my friends when they think there is no guy that wants or likes them, I tell them there's someone out there for everyone. Believe me. Her being overweight should be secondary. She'll turn out to be successful and that's all that will matter. Someone will fall in love with her for all her fantastic qualities. She's already got a start, she's smart and educated, charming and comes from a good family with good values. Someone will come along and find her "little" weight issue unimportant, and if they don't, they are the shallow ones. It sounds corny and it's an old line, but it's whats inside that counts, the outer shell is all secondary, but as long as they have all their teeth, lol. She'll find someone. Plus, she's in her late 20's, no rush there. Look at what she's accomplished, she'll accomplish that next stage in life soon. She can't just want to be with someone because she wants to be, the other person has to want the same things as she wants. So have her date around and get to know people. GL to her.

If a women is doing well for herself and is happy with things as they are right now why does she have to worry about what others think. Her parents are worried, well maybe she should explain to them better she wait for the right man that loves her for who she is than rush into a marriage just for the sake of being married. Chances are she could get a man she hardly knows and could wind up with an alcoholic, wife beater and would her parents want that for her. If she's well educated then she is probably very intelligent & knows just what she wants in a man and there should be no shame in that. As far as her wait, until she feels she could loose some weight she won't. Right now she is probably injoying her independance and she should be able to for as long as she wants. When she begins to think of meeting someone and settling down she will do what she believes she needs to do. She sounds like a very intelligent person and quite able to think for herself. The family needs to realize that and not make her fell guilty. Guilt can only cloud a persons judgment and can lead to bad choices for the sake of others. She needs to speak up for her self and state exactly where she stands on this issue.

She sounds very educated so when she fines the right guy she will know and settle down. Weight has nothing to do with true happiness maybe she just hasn't found that special someone yet. She is only in her twenties no need to panic yet maybe if she was in her late fifties then you could panic.

Let the gal find her own way. Sure it would be nice if she would get herself in better shape for a healthier lifestyle. She will have to want to do that on her own. Being 'somewhat overweight' might mean anything from a few pounds to a hundred. Maybe what you view as overweight, she doesn't!

Leave her alone. She will find someone when she is ready. If she wants to. Being tall and slim is not everything. I am tall and slim, well educated and making a good salary, but not married or reasonably settled.

Maybe there are singles socials at the Hindi temples in her location? Most Indian girls Ive seen are soo pretty, so she should just go where the single men are or look to family members and friends for such a thing. She'll find someone!! :)

I am sure she will eventually find a man who will love her for who she is even if she is a bit overweight. Her parents shouldn’t be worried some people just don’t get married till later in life. My cousin just got married he’s 33 and his wife is 31 or 32.

Her parents are worried? What about the lady herself? She sounds like she has a lot going for her so the rest should fall in line as she moves on. It looking to me like she's enjoying her freedom.

Maybe she should find a lover who doesn't care about her weight. If she's not worried about her relationship (or lack there of), they shouldn't worry either. She may not be ready for a relationship and prefer to work on her career instead.
