I was scared at first so i didnt tell my mom. and now she asked me if i was and i said yes she told me she was making me get an abortion and i wasnt aloud to see him anymore. and i wasnt aloud to talk or look at another black guy agian. and im almost 18 and he is 20 and she said she was going to press charges and i have dating him for 6months. what should i do?

First, calm down. Ok, your mom cannot press charges...you are both past the age of consent...don't worry about that. Your mom sounds like she is angry at the situation and needs someone or something to blame it on. Give her some space and then try talking calmly to her.

She can't press charges. Anyone over 16 is legally capeable of giving consentual sex. You're nearly 18 years old, if your boyfriend is 18 you two should find a place to live and get the heck out of your mom's house. She cannot MAKE you have an abortion.... however she can tell you to either have an abortion or get out of her house. You may just want to get out of there considering how over-bearing she's being. Anytime a girl gets pregnant she is considered legally amancipated. She has rights over her fetus and rights over her own life. Get a job quick and get a car if you don't already have one. Make sure your boyfriend knows all of this and see if he'll help you. Perhaps there is a counselor at your school you can speak with and they can help you get into some organizations that will help you find shelter and food and a job while you still get to finish school. First off if your 17 your mother cannot press charges. The sex between you and your boyfriend is consequetial. Now as far as your mother making you get an abortion. No unless you want to. Thats your choice. But she cannot make you do anything. You can have this baby if you so choose to. I hope everything works out for you. Hey if you need someone to talk to more I am here. I have been in your shoes before. I was 18 and pregnant. I now I am 27 and still married to a wonderful black man with six children. The man who my mother said was worthless. You have to decide is this really want you want? Can you handle this?

Okay number 1) your mother has no legal right to decide if you have a abortion or not. So do not worry about that, there's no way she can make you get one. 2) If she is threatning to kick you out if you dont get one and you want to keep the baby then go to your nearest Healthy Families or welfare office. They will help you get housing of your own. 3) In some states it is NOT illegal to have intamicy with someone over 18 if you are over 16 and you have consented. You would have to check your local laws to see if she can press charges or not. If I was you I wouldnt worry about this though, you have more important things to worry about.

Well you want to act like and adult so act like an adult and make some adult decisions, this is between you and your boyfriend, I guess sometimes we have to learn the hard way. My husbands 17 year old daughter now 18 just had a baby, when her mom found out she kicked her out. It made the daughter make some tough decisions, but she decided to keep the baby and now her and her boyfriend got their own place. I guess when life hits you , you either sink or swim. Only you can decide what you are going to do, I am assuming you didn't care much about your mom's opinion when you got involved with this guy so now deal with it.

Well those people who posted those first things first of all were very mean, yes I understand that your mom is mad but people need to get ove the black and white thing and as for abortions they need to be outlawed because unless you got raped or something like that, i think nobody should get one bc most people will just get pregnant again and then what r u gonna do keep on getting abortions? I think u need to talk to ur mom and get u a good job and make sure ur bf is goin to be there.

one age of consent is 16 so she can't get him locked up,she also can't force you to get an abortion,she can kick you out of the house,look in the phone book under Catholic Charities, they can help you find people who will help you,they don't want you to abort the baby so they will work with you to find housing and whatever you need to take care of yourself. Dose the father know? Because if nothing else he should be helping with the medical bills,and supporting you emotionally through this time.
