I am interested in trying to skip a year in college with enough credit from AP classes and mabye a few summer courses. I was wondering if I could get roguh estimate on how many AP courses and summer classes I would need to skip a full year in college, ao as to graduate in 3 years ratehr than 4. Thank you!

You'll need 8-10 passing grades, depending on the school (note that many schools accept only 4's or 5's, and some require 5's for certain subjects). An AP credit generally counts for the same as one semester of a college course (even if it took a full year in high school), and most schools consider four or five classes a full semester. However, I wouldn't recommend you do this. AP classes are quite different to college courses, and, while you'll still get your diploma, you'll be cheating yourself out of a quarter of your college education. I have enough credits between APs and taking an overload last term that I could probably graduate a year early if I wanted, but having been here for a year, I am quite confident that my school has enough to offer me to fill a fourth year and then some. If you just want a diploma and don't care about the knowledge that goes with it, college is a waste of your time as the average increase in earnings of a college graduate compared to a high school graduate is about equal to the average cost of a college education.

You need to take 10 AP classes. Each class that you pass with a 3, 4, or 5 score on the AP exam will give you 3 units. 30 Units is what gives you Sophomore standing in college. What I suggest is better not doing any AP courses. Instead, take a guitar class on your community college once a semester from your junior year and take each summer school with 6 units, and then take your first 2 semesters of real college with 18 units. This easily have you done with it.

I'd say, at *least* 8 classes. Full-time is 12 hours per semester. 2 semesters per year. So, to save a year of school, you need 24 hours, which is 8 classes.

You might need even more than that, though. In general, if a student only took 12 hours per semester, fall and spring only, I doubt he/she would graduate in 4 years.
