A dry well is a pit that collects water and lets it slowly percolate into the soil. Construct a 2' Square Box, from 2-by-6s or better is plastic wood. On one side of the box, cut a 3" diameter hole 6" to 8" from the bottom, fit a 3" diameter flexible drainpipe into the hole, fastening it with pipe sealant. Dig a trench, and run the pipe away from the house to a low area where the water can drain. Line the bottom of the box with 2" to 3" of 1" diameter stone or gravel. Cut the slats for the grate from metal rebar or Plastic Wood to fit the top of the box, spacing them 1" to 2" apart.
In the fall, clean dead leaves and other debris out of the bottom of the catchbasin or well so the outlet pipe doesn't clog.
Remember to put a grate on the top to keep animals from falling into the box.

Dig a trench and put a perforated drain pipe in it surrounded by gravel and backfill it. Keep the opening clear and it will collect and drain off the excess water.
