For roughly 28 years I have had constant pain in my ankles. I was born with club feet. I had a surgery to straighten them when i was an infant but since the age of 16 I've had arthritis. I have good days and bad days. Just curious what you think. I think I have, can't explain how or why. One idea I have is to compare it to tempering steel.

I think its entirely possible that the human body would adapt a way to deal with constant pain. After a while, I think that the body would consider that level of pain "normal." I live with near-daily headaches. If the pain increases beyond what I normally feel, I'll notice it, but other than that I pretty much tend to ignore the pain. I know that my pain level isn't close to yours, but I do think that we can end up conditioning ourselves to ignoring certain levels of pain.

I don' think so. I have had severe osteo arthritis since I was a child and I can never get any relief in my knees unless I go in for surgery to get it cleaned out. I think I'm ready for that damn joint replacement. Not even prescription meds help. LOL
