Midwesterners are always behind the coasts on any new fad. This is still true even with the Internet we still are behind.

I'm afraid I'm biased as I'm smack in the middle of Indiana...
As a group, Hoosiers (hate to speak for all of the midwest) tend to be very conservative, obsessed with basketball (not kidding, it's like a second religion to some people), resistant to change, friendly, and my boyfriend --not a Hoosier--informs me that we eat weird food here.

Well I don't live based on sterotypes but:

I hear about places to avoid, such as Gary, IN, Detroit...Ohio.

Otherwise: GOOD people, BAD fashion sense
