need a little more info. I've been an electrician since 1973 - it is possible that there is a problem in the switch. If the light on the fan worked before then attach the new light to the fan wiring. Turn the breaker off first. Whoever checked out your breaker should have provided you with the information you needed to get it working. (I would have - heck,--I would have done it for you).

Hmmm -- sounds like the old ceiling fan is gone. If that is the case then the next step is to get a volt and ohms meter and check all available wires to see if you have power and on which wires. If you have no power on any-- then the next step is eliminate the switch as the cause of the problem -- take it out and put the wires together ( after turning off juice of course--lol) You need to check the wires AT the switch if you have no power to the fixture. By doing this you can determine if you have a "dead wire" FROM the switch. Good Luck and God Bless

Sounds like a short in a wire inside the fan.
Defective product, you may consider exchanging it.
