Do you have to use itunes to put music on an ipod?
Can you use other programs like realplayer, windows media player ect.?

You can only use itunes to put music on any ipod device.

Yes, i learned this the hard way, you do have to use iTunes. I tried using real player but that made my computer freeze up every time i tried to put songs on my video ipod. So i resorted to using itunes. Besides itunes is very easy to use, its so easy to use that a caveman could use it.

the apple company which has introduced itunes has really emphasized that the ipods can only transfer data through apple's own music software itunes. ur ipod will not transfer data if it is any other software rather than itunes. download itunes for free and transfer songs easily!
