In terms of parenting skills, did your parents have any? Do you now, or will you in the future, use your own parents as a model for parenting your own children?

I no longer have either of my parents. When they were still alive, even into my adulthood, I thought they were "just OK" parents. Now that they are gone, I've thought alot about all the things they taught me with the way that they raised me. They had a great way of raising my sister and I. We both have kids now, and I see her treat her son the same way our parents treated us.
My parents definitely had skills. I am proud to use their techniques for my children. It works and we are a happy family, thanks to my parents. Everything I learned I learned from my mom and dad in the parenting department.

they were great parents. And I love them but some things they did I will not do with my own children. I guess all parents think that they know best at the time. We as children and parents now remember what they did and either do as they did or do the complete opposite. We learn from our parents the good and the bad.

I was adopted as an infant by the very best parents in the world. I could not have hand picked better parents. I love them dearly and we are a very close family. I am not having children, ever. But if I were to...yes, I would use them as a parental model.

Bad... on a scale from 1-10 I rate them a 3.5 The bad thing is I catch myself doing some of the same stuff with my kids. I acknowledge my mistakes and only hope I don't repeat them over and over because I know my children will pick up the same bad habits.

love my parents. their skill was better then mine. i tended to spoil my children more.
