WHere should I start if I want to be a game designer?

I just turned fourteen and i don't know where to start in order for me to pursue my dream as a game designer.

Do well in school for the first part, especially in Maths and Sciences.

And once you're done with high school, there's lots of options open, it would probably be in your best interests (in terms of money) to attend a trade school instead of a four year (but four-year universities always look better on your resume).

Schools like ITT tech and such are starting new programs for game design do some searching on the internet, and see if it's what you really want to do. If you're in high school, talk to your counselor and tell them what you want to do, they're the best source for helping you get on the right track and take the right classes and apply at the right places.

It depends on what part you actually want to pursue. Do you want to be a character/world designer? Then you would start with art. Graphics art, Digital art, and etc.

Programmer? Go into basic computer classes and even office classes. Go to college and take programming classes, and even take them in school (if you can)

There's lots of different aspects to game designing. I'm in Graphic Arts myself! You'd probably need to move to CA to work with the big wigs, though, such as Squenix or Capcom, etc.

Games these days are made by a huge team of people, with a wide variety of skills. Art/graphics designers, music designers, game content, storyline developers, etc.
