I didn't find a diagram, but I found a picture of a 3.8 motor showing the belt and how it is routed. Hope this helps.

Ok sometimes on the belt package there is the possable routing chart.
So go to the auto parts store and just order the belt. On the package it is sometimes the routing chart.
Also if you go to the dealer, he will print you out the chart showing you how it goes on. Free of charge

i like to go to a wrecking yard and look at the same motor in the same kind of car, this can help with all sorts of stuff from wiring to belt routing. also the dealership thing is a great idea.

They are usually on a sticker under the hood somewhere.

you can get that a the parts store when you get the belt, the hard part is putting it on. the idler pulley is very stiff and it is best to release the pressure with a socket and breaker bar.

Get a HAynes or Chilton's service manual for your year and make of car. Haynes is the best one for the weekend warrior.
