I understand that no. of diseases and disorders like high blood pressure, headache, acidity, etc. have root cause in 'constipation'. All the medical practices in the world in such cases naturally prescribe some kind of purgatives, which often are habit forming, and, therfore, it is best suggested that such patients should change their eating and drinking habits. However, as a measure of qucik relief and even as a part of therapy I believe use of enema should be prescribed by the physicians. I am a layman and want to know what harm this may cause to such class of patients.

Your question is based on the premise that constipation is the main cause of a number of disorders. That thinking is why it is labeled "alternative" medicine because it goes against evidence based conventional medicine. There are a number of causes of constipation, the list which includes:

* not enough fiber in the diet
* lack of physical activity (especially in the elderly)
* medications
* milk
* irritable bowel syndrome
* changes in life or routine such as pregnancy, aging, and travel
* abuse of laxatives
* ignoring the urge to have a bowel movement
* dehydration
* specific diseases or conditions, such as stroke (most common)
* problems with the colon and rectum
* problems with intestinal function (chronic idiopathic constipation)

It is not true that all the medical practices in the world prescibe a stimulant laxative. Changing the diet is a good idea. If you are giving yourself a saline enema there is a risk of perforating the colon, which would be harmful.

It is supposed that the average patient is not capable of taking an enema on their own and that they would prefer a pill or two. It seems to be too much to ask a person with this problem to drink more water, eat more fiber, etc.

Actually, for many people it is difficult to make these sort of life style changes. Most people will get around to it if their problems have bothered them enough.

a lot of people through the ages have felt pretty good about enemas. however I have heard, or read that frequnt use of enemas can harm you by reducing the good bacteria, and presenting bad bacteria and cysts ect. into yiour bloodstream. I believe drinking enough water and eating fiborous foods will rid one of constipation better, along with enough exercise.

Um, he didn't say he was constipated. That's a good question. I suspect it is because of convenience. While I know there are a few people out there who actually enjoy enemas, I think the majority find the thought of it "distasteful".

No, he hadn't used the ones matters in a even as. He had one too many bacon cheeseburgers and peanut butter and nanner sandwiches. He used to be additionally disillusioned given that there used to be a lady looking ahead to him and it wasn't his Ciller.

Try natural food e.g. prunes with breakfast (you can have them seedless). Better still, have oats with prunes as beakfast. Guaranteed to succeed!!! If not try Aloe Vera juice.
