the term "yellow belly" means ...a person is a chicken to do something ....like in the old Western movies were a outlaw gunslinger calls someone out for a shutout and the person does not come out ,,,,the outlaw calls him a yellow belly .......

When someone is referring to you or someone as "yellow-bellied" they are calling you/them a coward.
