OK, so i'm in the 8th grade, and this guy that I kinda like is in 9th grade. totaly different schools, and grades and people and yeah. he is practically 2 years older than me. How do you know if he really likes me and wants to go out with me, [like his friends and my friends say], or does he just want to look good like with a good reputation, or just have a girlfriend at all? And idk if i wanna go out with him because hes smoked and done drugs and is way more experienced that I am.

Sometimes the direct approach is best, just ask. But if that seems too bold for your liking, look for the following signs. Pay attention to your conversations with the person in question.
1) Does this person show a special interest in having a conversation with you and, once started, make an effort to keep that conversation going?
2) Has this person taken a sudden interest in your life and hobbies? This is a sure sign that he or she is interested in something.
3) Other elements of body language include frequent eye contact, holding your gaze and looking down before looking away.
4) Does the person you're wondering about just plain smile at you a lot?

omg. i was going through the same thing. go for it in your words hes hot.and if he loves you then he'll stop the smoking and drinking when you tell him it scares you. and ya you gotta act experienced. NOT A SLUT THOUGH! lol
