Well, you have to be raised a priveliged spoiled person to get elected to office. Poor people don't have the time or the resources to run a winning campaign and that is a fact. I think that has a lot to do with it. These people have no idea what it's really like for the average person and so they just look down on them. What do they care? They've got lobbyists kissing their a$$es all the time and people telling them they're the greatest thing ever so they'll help them out. I think all politicians should be forced to live on minimum wage for 90 days so they know what reality is.

Most politicians when they FIRST get into office mean well. Over time, the power of the Office gets to their head and the corruption starts. This is where I think we should have term limits.

I hate it too... but in all honesty it is human nature. Politicians by nature are all competing to get to the top, and they all have to cut corners and cheat a little bit to make it. Those who are willing to do ANYTHING to get into power, will pass those who are not. Thats the best way I can put it.

This line of work attracts the power hungry and a democratic system does not limit the candidates in their motivations for choosing a political career.

Cynically conversing, perhaps. Realistically, i think of a few enter the sphere desperate to do solid artwork. i think of a few truthfully maintain their moralistic view of non-public habit, yet some are patently skill-hungry bullies who succumb too truthfully to fulfill the lobbyists. the exciting is, sorting them out to discover the "solid adult adult males" vs. the "undesirable adult adult males". i think of Senator Obama in basic terms could be between the "solid adult adult males".
