It's pretty easy actually and you file in the state you reside in. If you are friends, split the filing fee and waive the waiting period. Once you explain the situation to the judge, they may even allow him to appear via telelphone (i've seen it dozens of times). The judge may also waive the waiting period and just divorce you on the spot to avoid court costs....but you have to ask.

Wish you luck!

You can file for divorce in any state, but some states are better than others, as far as who gets what. It would be best to get an attorney, unless you just simply wish to get divorced, without going after anything of each other's. In that case, you could go to your county court house, and they will assist you in the matter.

Decide who wants to file and file in the state the filer lives in. Who ever files pays for it. I suggest you split the costs if you both want out of the marriage. You can get divorced for as little as $250.00. Look in the phone book for an attorney who does uncontested divorces.

Go to your local court house in the county you live in and pay for the papers......only like 5 bucks. Make copies......have him served, thats another 25 bucks every time they attempt to serve him, so make sure you know he will be there. Then the fileing fees are around 300 bucks. Then there is about a 2 or 3 month waiting period.

If no one is contesting and there are no assets to fight over you should be able to get a no fault divorce. I've seen advertised in the paper in this city (Erie, PA) for as little as $200. If no one is contesting, it shouldn't matter what state you file in.

Without cohabitation for ten years and no argument about this divorce, it should be easy. I would start in the state in which you were married and , if necessary, seek legal advice from pro bono law students art the nearest law school.

in the tip, this is going to be your call. everybody on Yahoo!solutions won't probable understand the full tale of your and your infants's lives. That being reported, here is how i might attitude it: Write down what you and your ex can and can't grant. Are you each and every emotionally stable? Will you provide time on your infants and their emotional and academic progression? Do you each and every have help networks once you may desire to not be available on your infants on the instant? attempt to be as objective as available. finally, in case you think of which you would be waiting to grant a stronger existence wide-unfold on your daughter (i.e., it will be sufficiently extra desirable to make it nicely worth putting her in a skill knock-down, drag-out costly criminal conflict alongside with your ex), then i might advise doing it. for sure, it would be super in case you may desire to communicate diplomatically alongside with your ex to be certain if the assumption is available and despite if she would desire to even like it. stable luck to you and your infants.

You could do pro-active since you have no assests or minor children together. Call and talk with a lawyer or even the courthouse where you live.
