Hi there. First, CONGRATS on working towards recovery! That's great.

Everyone gets their period back at different times, so unfortunately, there is no one answer I can give you. Some of my patients get it back while still at a low weight, and some maintain a perfectly normal body weight for several months before it comes back. Factors that help: weight restoration, and reduction in symptoms. (i.e. if you've gained back some weight, but are still bingeing and purging, your body may not trust that it's safe to have a period. Likewise, if you've eating everything on your mealplan, not being symptomatic, but are still at a really low weight, your body may not trust that it's ready).

Keep moving forward in recovery and checking in with your treatment team (I am hoping you have a good, and supportive therapist, nutritionist and doctor!) about this from time to time. If it would be reassuring, you can always see a GYN for an exam (though I know that's no fun either...).

Here are some links to find treatment in case you need it:

Good luck to you. :)

When your body is ready, it will come back.
You actually have to have a certain amount of weight on you in order to menstruate. The reason your period stoped in the first place was because your weight dropped, and all your body chemistry changed.
You might wanna try to Google it, and find out more.
