5. (5y-1)(y-5)
6. (x+2)(2x-1)
7. (5y+3)(y-2)
8. (3x+2)(x+1)

The above answers are right, but no indication of how you get them. There is no fixed method for factoring, it is trial and error. You know the coefficient of the variable (x or y) is the product of the coefficient of the variable in each of the factors, and the same is true of the constant term, so you try to find numbers that produce the proper result. In eq 5, for example, 5y^2 can only come about by multplying 5 times 1; same for the constant term 5. Also, the middle term is negative, so al least one of the factros has a negative sign. In fact, since the constant term is positive, and is the product of two numbers, both factors must have a negative sign. So it can either be (-5y+1)(-y+5), (-5y+5)(-y+1), (5y-5)(y-1), or (5y-1)(y-5). You try each one to see which works.
