I think probably you had a specific idea when you composed this question that doesn't come across with the question as worded

Everything is made of atoms. You are composed entirely of atoms. The air you breathe is composed entirely of atoms.

Everything you will ever touch or smell is made of atoms.

So, "what are the uses?", well.... EVERY USE FOR EVERYTHING

The atoms are the particles that the materials structure has made of them. for example, see a building; the bricks combine together and conform the building. this is the atoms uses in material structures. in fact, atoms specify the materials properties.
