First you multiply the first number by the last number. So for the first problem multiply 2x2=4. Then you find two numbers that multiply to be that number, and add to be the middle number. The only numbers that work are 4 and 1. If you multiply 4x1 you get 4, and if you add 4+1 you get 5. Then you split the middle term so you have an equation with four terms. You will get 2x^2+4x+1x+2. Then you split up the equation, so you have (2x^2+4x)+(1x+2). Then you find the common factor for each binomial. For the first part, factor out a 2x, and for the second part factor out a 1. You get 2x(x+2)+1(x+2). Then you see that you have (x+2) twice. So write it one time in parentheses, and then in another set of parenteses you write what you have left. You will end up with (x+2)(2x+1). For the second problem multiply 7x2=14. So you need two numbers that multiply to be 14 and add to be -15. (-14)x(-1) works. So split the equation into four pieces. You get 7x^2-14x-1x+2 or (7x^I2-14x)+(-1x+2). Factor out 7x from the first part, and -1 from the second. You get 7x(x-2)-1(x-2). Then you end up with (x-2)(7x-1). I will let you do the other problems by yourself.
