Give it up period, unless you are a power-monger (just kidding). I work for politicians, and you're right. All I ever hear are the same old, tired arguments. Nobody seems to have an open mind ideologically. Political types just seem to follow the money. In other words they kiss up to the causes that will further their careers with campaign contributions, bigger government contracts, or what ever the cause-du-jour is (I don't feel they have the people's interests as their primary motivator; that's secondary.)
