Is a bitrate of 128 for a cd good?

128 is near-cd quality so you won't notice any difference between 128 and a normal cd... You can go higher but again the only difference you'll notice is the higher you go, the bigger the mp3/music file, the LESS you can get on your cd.

It's near enough cd quality when it comes to mp3's...if you want anything better ie. studio quality then look for higher not lower bitrates....alternatively lossless formats might be even better.

That's for an MP3 file, and 196 i hear is a little better.
