I can't give you a scientific answer, but I can tell you my law school class had a broad range of ages. Probably 60% came straight out of college (23-24). But a lot of people came out of other graduate programs. Still more had been out working for a while before going back to school. I even had a classmate in his 50s. He had been a school superintendent before deciding on a career change. His contribution to class was very valuable because he offered a unique viewpoint.

well let's see now, 4 years of high school, 4 years of college, 2 years of schooling toward a JD. Maybe 23 or 24?
