Don't name the baby after him if he's going to walk out on the poor kid. Do you want your son to have a constant reminder every time he hears his own name that his dad didn't want him? It should be an honor to have your child named after you, and this guy doesn't sound like he deserves it.

girl name the baby what you want since he is in and out. Whatever name you decided to give your baby still give the baby the father's last name. A child should know who their parent is and plus you will need that for child support purposes also.

no, no and no. i was in the same situation, although I'm that unborn child you have. my mother went through the same thing and after i was born he was never around, heck I've met him once and im 34. im really glad i was given the name my mother chose for me and that i have my mothers last name.
you have to remember, if you do go this route and later down the road you and this guy get married, you can change all this especially your child's name. do what you think is best for the child. it would be better to do this and see if things do eventually work out than to have a child by his chosen name and last name only for him to leave you after he gets tired of taking care of the responsibilities that come with a child. good luck

First off give him whatever first name you'd like. There is no reason to name him after his father if his father isn't going to be around. Plus then everyday when you call him by that name how would you feel? Last name give him the fathers for support purposes.

Since you both are having a difficult time with your relationship, it may prove beneficial to name the baby after him for obvious reasons to move forward positively. Other than that, there are no gaurantees. My humble opinion.

Pick a name that you like, but be sure to put him on the birth certificate for support purposes...otherwise it could get messy & expensive with paternity issues.
