Hi. I would like to purchase gifts for my Pakistani neighbors, but I need to know what day to surprise them and present the gifts. They are constantly stuffing my belly with this sweet rice and almond dish, this green stuff that you spread onto a flatbread, and other rice dishes. I really would like to present them with a nice gift. So, if someone out there can tell me the exact U.S. Calendar date along with any nice gift suggestions I would appreciate it. Thank you.

In response to the first answer, I would sugget giving anything except something cultural. Chances are, they already have it, and I doubt that you know enough about Pakistani culture to know what an appropriate cultural gift *is* without asking them.
Eid will be eithe Oct. 24 or 25, just keep an eye on google for when the lunar month ends. As for gifts, its always nice to get something for the kids if they have any, and as an actual present, maybe a nice vase or other such decorative item? Its hard without knowing any specifics, but that's always a nice, general present to fall back to.

See, that is a problem. They don't tell you the exact date until it happens. When was their first day of Ramadan? That makes a difference too. In the US, some people started on Saturday, most on Sunday, and some on Monday. Ramadan is never more than 30 days, since its based on a lunar month, but odds are it will be only 29 days this year since the previous two months were both 30 days.
You would probably be safe giving them an Eid gift on Tuesday, October 24.

First of all, Scholars can't decide when Eid is except on the last day of Ramadan. For now they are set for Oct. 24 but it could change a day.
A gift suggestion could be a cultural Pakistani dress or some other cultural gift.

The exact date depends upon the sighting of the moon. You could give a nice cake or flowers.

I think eid is around Oct 24/25 in India & Pakistan, but I'm not too sure .. have a good one! :)
