How do people like probation officers, police, etc, view what you have been looking at on your computer? What are the exact steps to see the website history for the entire computer?

Pretty much assume anything you do can be monitored remotely, locally, or anywhere else around you. Your monitor can be read from across the street with the curtains drawn. Your data can be seen pretty much anywhere on hundreds of miles of cable (yes, even fiber). Your hard drive, if not smashed to tiny bits and melted down, will give up its secrets if you try hard enough. These days, they can look at the disk electrons and be able to piece back together parts of information many times over.

Now the real question:

What are you doing to make anyone care to do that.

Nobody is going to be doing all of that over some minor crime. It takes a lot of time and money. So clearing your browser cache, history, and maybe even a 1-3 overwrite of slack space and blank nodes should be plenty if you're just worried about someone stealing your computer and making you look bad.

If you really did do something wrong, covering it up can be detected as well, which will just encourage the use of the other techniques.

In other words, be a good person and if you know it's wrong, stop.

When you delete files the data is still stored on your computer. This is even AFTER you empty your recycling bin.

What happens is that the data is stored on an empty spot of the drive, until you have put enough data on the drive that it gets purged (may not ever happen for the average user). But there are ways to get around this (read on).....

Keep in mind there are plenty of free forensics programs that can sniff out bytes of deleted data. If you're REALLY not careful there are entire undelete programs (freeware).

If you have something to hide, get a wiping utility that wipes your drive (and it's free space) at 7-8 passes. It takes all night to run, but it's up to the Military standards. And you can find wiping utilities for free on a google search (sorry, I'm lazy).

If sh!t has really hit the fan, drill 6 holes in a circle around your harddrive, that way only VERY SPECIALIZED people could EVER interpret what you had. (Basically, it wouldn't happen unless you were Osama himself).

Last but not least, don't download porn at work and you won't have this problem, hehe :)

If you're just wanting to clear your history fast, I would recommend Crap Cleaner. It's free and 1 push of a button!

It is almost impossible to clear all information from the computer. You leave trails that are called footprints. when someone hacks your computer even they leave footprints. There are log files for many various events that happen on your computer for various reasons. Some are for trouble shooting issues. Wiping out your hard drive and rebuilding won't help either. You can still recover files on a PC.

Government computers will go through several high level shreddings sessions to rid them of secure information that could be recovered.

Now, with that said... if all you want is to prevent immediate history and internet temp files from being accessed by anyone.. you can turn off the Internet Temp files by going to
In internet explore window
click on Tools / Internet options / Advanced tab / scroll down to the security section and check the delete Internet Temp files upon closing.

Next go to Content Tab and click on the Auto Complete
Uncheck all the boxes. You should uncheck the forms and passwords for privacy protection anyway

Then go to then General tab, turn the history files to keep number from default of 20 to 0
Make sure you clean out your windows temp files as well.

You may also want to download the ISystem Wiper which is a free tool that allows you to clean out all these files including the Index Files for Internet activity. The index files can not be deleted like they use to with older operating systems.

This downloads and install in seconds you can choose to have it run before or after you close down or start up.

To delete the index files completely. You must run this then shut down completely. Rebooting will not always do it.

Good luck

One note... if your breaking policies at work... your computer means nothing the firewall the company has will document all internet activity coming and going to your computer and most likely with your logon name.
They may also have an email content filtering system that controls your email as well. You may think you deleted the emails, but think again. The emails are removed from your inbox and are placed in an email vault for future rreference/reporting.

There can also be strategies in our brain that we have got authorized as thruths at age three. We have been too younger to invite the good judgment of what we authorized, specially if the adults who taught us the ones matters have been our mothers and fathers, humans we relied on they could regularly let us know the reality. Even regardless that they suggestion they have been doing us proper by means of telling us fables to be authorized as data, we at the moment are caught with them. Until we significantly deprogram ourselves with a tremendous quantity of painful logical reasoning, we are not able to do whatever approximately it. Most humans are too mentally lazy and they're at ease with traditions, cultural behavior, high-quality-sounding phrases. To discover out whether or not what they suppose is truly or unreal, actual or fake, simply or unjust, rational or irrational is the final factor they want to do.
