For one thing, when you write a college admission essay, be more careful with grammar, spelling and word form than you were on this question. Should be: What do I need to do to go to college.

there are places known as junior colleges, colleges, and universities. Depends on your grades where you should go. The junior colleges should be several branches in your area and they are the easiest to get into and they are more the intermediary in the switch making the jump from high school to college easier to digest, and the cost is less if you are a resident in that area. You can take your 2 years there and get your Associates degree and then move on to the final two years at another college or university. Your first two years are more or less a review of the same things you had in high school but with a little more direction toward a specialty.
Certainly if you have all A's and can afford it you can move right into applying at universities. The cost will be a lot more and if they aren't in your area you'd have to not only think about books, fees, and hours costs you'd have to pay for housing as well and transportation there and back (weekends?). So you'll need loans. Although there are school loans out there, I suggest you work your way through college by a part-time job. Those loans are difficult to repay.
Either way you go I suggest you attend the classroom courses (rather than online) so you can meet people, particupate in active discussion, and get your questions answered.

You need to have your high school diploma or GED. You need to get a copy of your shot record. If your under 24 you will have to have you parents help you with you student loan application. You can apply for student loans online. Go to www.fasfa.edu.gov. This will take you step by step and tell you what you need to do to apply. I will save you some time and tell you to have your tax forms in hand or your parents tax forms if they claimed you the year before. Also you need to have an idea on where you would like to go to school because they will ask you to enter it least 3 schools that you have in mind. They ask you this so that when you do select a school, they will already have everything in the system to process your application. You'll also have to have you highschool transcrips even if you didn't graduate highschool and just got your GED. If you already have a school in mind, you could just go to the school and see an academic advisor and they could tell you anything else you might need. Considering that fall classes have already started you have a few months to get everything together. Don't get overwelmed by all of this. I know it sounds like alot, but in the end it is well worth it. I think it is great what you are doing. I know where you are comming from. I was the first in my family to go and it was hard at first but I am glad I chose to do it. I wish you the best of luck and if you need any more help you can e-mail me and I will do my best to help you. Good luck.

I was the first in my family too.
1) Have a few ideas of what to major in.
2) Take SATs
3) Buy a book comparing colleges. Pick out several favourites
4) Compare your current scores to their average scores.
5) Talk to a HS guidance counselor if you are totally clueless about 2 and 4. See how you can improve the scores
6) Retake SATs and improve grades
7) Request college information
8) Apply for admissions
9) Apply for financial aid (FAFSA and possibly CSS Profile)
10) Wait for acceptance/rejection letters
11) Compare fin aid offers
12) Let the college know that you plan to go to them.
13) Send off tuition deposit.
14) Graduate high school
15) Enjoy!

I do not be live that you are proper college material. Or in your case Collage. People are born into colleges they cannot just go into them. If you ask me you have a better chance at Getting a job at Mcdonalds than passing "Collage". Wait I don't even think you could get a job at Mcdonalds. If you cannot even spell college I highly doubt that you have the proper etiquette to join a college, and if you dont know what that means look it up. I don't mean use a search and search, "What does etiquette means" only to be dissapointed of your findings. Judging from your most terrible question i deduce that you are from the south. Yes, i just called you a Red Neck. Why with your hooker mom and drunk of a dad you really are better off not going to college.

First u have to want to go to college yourself and not because u r the first to go there. Don't be pressured into that.
Then u have to have good grades in High School and find what subjects u like the most and ask around about any carrier u see mto like.
Finally apply to several colleges so u get more acceptances and u get to chose the best one for you.

Go see an academic advisor. If you are in high school, ask a teacher who best to talk to. If you've picked a school, apply then go see the academic advisor there.
Look at the websites of schools you are interested in- many will tell you everything you need on the site, and most will let you apply on-line.
Stay informed- don't be afraid to ask what to do next, and plan out your "plan of attack" on how to accomplish your goal.

to go to college you gotta have your mind in the right place and make sure you are prepared for the adventure you are about to embark upon. Start talking to people, i mean the right people, like your boss at work co-workers, friends in high place and ask them what they would suggest for your perticular situation
