Main things I want to point out
1. Women change their name to have husband's last name as theirs last name
2. Have their children named after husbands last name.
Why can't you inherit both Fathers and Mothers. There is no way you can trace mother ancestry.
Surprisingly, I see many women OK with this however female chauvinist they are. How come this discrimination is still accepted in a progressive society like America ?

Because it's traditon that men see competent women as emasculating and capable women make them feel inadequate. In effort to reduce women to a level that is more comfortable for men to deal witrh, women have been chronically objectified, undervalued, and discriminated against in our society.
Despite out laws and efforts the attitude still prevails, that women are inferior.
Especially in corporate America. Ever heard of "The Glass Ceiling"? It's where women get passed over for promotion unless they put out. It's where women don't hold higher positions unless they reduce themselves to prostitution. Just because men are intimidated by strong capable, competent women.

Let me say something......... WHO GIVES A CRAP!!!!!!!! That is the way its always been done and mostly no one even women have cared about it until feminist Hilary Clinton wannabes started having a problem with every and all men and everything men do. Goodness gracious, all we ever get from you idiots is arrogance and a want for more....more more more more more....quit acting like 2-year olds. There have been a lot of women of the past, good women admirable women, Who stood up for women in general and prevailed in commuting to us that women are equals with men. You are not inferior and men no longer claim that you are. If you are so concerned about women and not yourself then why don't you take a look oversees and help the Islamic women. They actually need help!
My mom owned are previous businesses, my boss's wife owns there business, in fact a lot of men run places that are owned by women. Why do you think that is? Because women-owned businesses get a lot more benefits than men owned. Women get more government benefits than men do. Women discretion and racial discretion are no longer rampant in the USA. Certain people( female & male, black & white) are still racists, feminists, and chauvinists. That is not going to change. We need to quit being this way, and stand up for what's important in life.

There are many ways to trace maternal ancestry, as birth certificates contain both parents' birth names.
There is no rule that women have to change their last names. It's custom but not required. As for children carrying both names, then when does it end? Bob Smith and Rita Johnson get married, and have a kid who they name Chuck Smith-Johnson. Chuck Smith-Johnson meets Brenda Jones-Tate. Their kid is Dave Smith-Johnson-Jones-Tate, who then marries Sheila Kowalski-Gomez-Petrocelli-van Dyke (it was a racially diverse neighborhood). So their kid is Peter Smith-Johnson-Jones-Tate-Kowalski-Gomez-Petrocelli-van Dyke.
See how dumb that gets?

1, I didn't take my husband's name. Neither did my sister nor any of my female peers
2. The problem with conveying hyphenated names or matrilineal names has more to do with practicality, as pointed out by another responder, than with chauvinism.

Asking why women are inferior is like asking why is the sky up and the ground down, or why the sun is hot. It just is.
