lucky people can do hearts and stuff. How come I can't?

Hold ALT and hit the numbers on your number pad

METHOD 1:

Hold Alt, press 1 on the numpad, then release Alt.
This makes the smiley face character: ☺

(You HAVE to use the numpad; the number keys above the letter keys won't work.)

Alt+1 makes: ☺
Alt+2 makes: ☻
Alt+3 makes: ♥
Alt+4 makes: ♦
Alt+5 makes: ♣
Alt+6 makes: ♠
etc.
Alt+065 makes: A
Alt+090 makes: Z
Alt+097 makes: a
Alt+122 makes: z

Search the Internet for "ASCII charts" to see the full chart (0-255).

METHOD 2:
=========
Do Start, Run, then type "charmap" then press Enter/OK.
A window should pop up showing you letters and numbers, etc. Scroll down far enough and you should see symbols like the heart symbol above. Copy and paste.

Depending on the font, it might or might not work. But, this gives you access to more symbols than the Alt+ trick that I gave above.

there's more if you go to start> run> charmap hit enter and the character map will come up
