This is around 10 pm and a women rang my doorbell and walked away before i opened the door. when i looked out, she was at a distance, turned back and then walked away. I am not sure why she rang my doorbell and why she walked away. Does anyone know what this means or why she did that?

I think that she probably rang the wrong doorbell, she probably realised that it was the wrong house only after she rang the doorbell, then she went away.

That happened to a neighbor of mine. They let the woman in to use the phone. A couple days later my neighbor was robbed. The police found out that the robbers used this woman to tell them if there was anything worth stealing from that house.
or she realized she was at the wrong door.....
or you could have just been moving too slow to the door and she got tired of waiting.....

please stop being paranoid i go door to door sales this women looked out her door, called the police her neighbor at work. damn women there IS a life outside your door that doesn't have a thing to do with yours she could have been lost.could be just about anything. may god bless you and keep you safe my dear.please try not to worry.if you see her again call the law

probably she got in the wrong house and when she realized that, it was already too late so the only thing she could do was to walk away and avoid the embarassement.

I think you're either over analyzing things or she didn't have enough courage to stay there and talk to you. She might have had the wrong door!

yeah it means she was trying to get a hold of someone at the house, and they were too late at answering the door!!
