Twelve day road trip across the state of New Mexico. Carlsbad Caverns, backcountry camping in Yucca Canyon, White Sands (like anohter planet!), Cloudcroft, Las Cruces, the VLA telescope field, Bandolier National Monument.. we never made it up to Taos because we were there while the Los Alamos wildfire was raging and couldn't get up that way. New Mexico is an awesome state to visit.

Cross-country road trip with my family from the east coast to the west coast. The trip didn't really get interesting until we hit South Dakota: Black Hills, Deadwood, Mt. Rushmore, Corn Palace. We also went to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons and saw the Grand Canyon.
Other great places: California far north - Patrick's Point park, the Redwood forests; Death Valley.
There are so many great things to see and do in the US, but it's a million times better if you go with friends and family.

Spent a month floating the Colorado River through Grand Canyon. Beautiful, and the biggest Whitewater rapids in North America. Great trip.

Summer of 2000. Traveled from Missouri to North and South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. I had so much fun and absolutely loved the Cajun cuisine in New Orleans.

Maine ... driving up into Acadia National Park and looking out over the ocean, then heading back down and stopping along the quiet beaches and little crab and lobster shacks and lighthouses. It's gorgeous and less touristy than most places I've found.

Clearwater Beach, Florida. One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been on, rivals most carribean and mexican destinations.
