For most of the season, half of the NL was in the wild card race. Most divisions were close for most of the year. The only exception was really the Mets, but the rest of the division was in the wild card chase most of the year. All other divisions constantly had teams fighting for the division.
Don't forget about Ryan Howard chasing 61 HR.
Also, I'm a Yankee fan, so watching my team sweep the Sox in a 5-game series was great.

It's a terrible time for Arizona baseball - I'm going to the end of season game tomorrow - it's the last game for Luis Gonzalez & Craig Counsell & I love those guys.
We got lots of kids coming through - but Luis & Craig won the World Series * for us in 2001 & it's toug to let go.
* Jay Bell is now bench coach in AZ.
NOTE: Luis didn't have his option year picked up - over $10 million for a guy who can't throw (bad elbow, after surgery). But he'd be a great pick up as a DH in the AL.

Rod C Writes:
Dodgers squeezed in,best year for the Tigers since the Kirk Gibson 84 series,Yanks are kickin' butt,Met's are crusin',Oakland's looking good....OK I'm out of adjectives....................
That was until:
The Tigers' Pitchers are slacking up
Dodgers Barely Squeezed in (Despite no pitchers)
Yankees will get eliminated in ALDS
The Mets are done since Pedro is out.
Oakland is the only one that is dominated and may possible take it all the way due to that young pitchers.
I have not ran out of adjectives.... yet

Yes, this has been an exciting regular season of Major League Baseball, but I am glad to see it come to a close, and we can start the playoffs - the second season.
GO YANKEES!
