Deuteronomy 18 (New International Version)

Detestable Practices

9 When you enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. 10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in [a] the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you. 13 You must be blameless before the LORD your God.

psychics are not "sorcery". Christians talk to god or christ do they not? Psychics contact christ also they just use different words. sometimes referred to "the Light" "christ" or some "spirits". Christ is a spirit so they are talking to him. when you put a personality on the higher being / Light / God it is like giving them the name. or a personality. which is wron to start with.
If you think that psychics are evil that means that when you talk to christ you only hold up one side of the conversation. with psychics "christ" talks back.

reincarnation must be evil to you also mustn't it? Jesusv taught it. in the gospel of Matthew there are two passages where jesus specifically states that john was a reincarnation of elijah.

the bible doesn't even condemn talking to "spirits" it even gives instructions on how to tell the difference between the the ones of god (good ones) and the ones that are not (bad ones). in 1 john 4

A large part of the bible was translated from greek texts. you will find that the word for "spirit" also means "mind".

what if someone is in a mentle institute because they hear the ccry of REAL demans in there head and they are crying out for someone to rid them of the curse that has been put in them. are they EVIL too?

Did you know that jesus was psychic? Yeah SURE he was the son of god but he taught his followers to do this. He could heal people with touch, know what someone was thinking, rose the dead, turned water to wine doesn't that sound like something a psychic, a sorcerer and a magician would do.

by the way "judge not, let yeast be judged"

I'm not going to argue with you about this topic. I have my opinion and obviously you have yours.

Instead, I just want to warn you about taking bits and pieces of the Bible and trying to interpret those bits into absolutes. It's a good idea to study the Word, but also you must consider the context in which the scriptures were written. You need to consider the context both within the text itself (what the particular book and author were dealing with in the Biblical story told) and with the history of how the Bible came to be as we know it now (we're talking about centuries of editing and translations being done to the original words by those who may have had their own interpretation as to what the original text was saying).

Also keep in mind that throughout history there have been some pretty nasty acts done because of some egotistical misinterpretation of the Word. The Crusades, the Inquisition, and the Salem Witch trials are just some of the ones everyone has an awareness of and they all happened because of those who did not fully appreciate/understand what the Bible or the teachings of Jesus were trying to tell us all.

Also remember: Matthew 7:15-20

"A Tree and Its Fruit
15"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them."

the belief in horoscopes are anything but silly. the stars do not predict but influence though planetary motions(not gona explain since most ppl dont or wont understand), thats the first general misconception people have. The magi also read the stars, how do u think they found jesus(um by looking at a star)? Next, anything that is not christianity is evil, thats pretty much the sad things that priests preach(besides the superficiality of doing good to others, which u dont need a priest to do), why? because they of course dont want you to convert my friend, they dont want you to leave, so its simple just say that astrology, allah, jews, buddist is all satans work and youll burn in hell if you even approach it. Lastly, i rather follow the patterns of stars than a silly little book which is filled with fairy tales. if u ask me, the bible is a witchcraft practice itself or in other words a cult, i mean think about it, u have a priest who burns incences(and sacrifice "witches"?) and candles, and than u have "holy water" which is just water, insnt it all sorcery. yes and satan is behind the readings of horoscopes, since horoscopes are evil. yes since the horoscope causes wars, hate, jealousy and all evil stems from it. what kind of hipocracy is that? God bless all of you who dwell in ignorance =D

What gives you the right to dictate what people do and how they think? You're making more enemies than friends with that behavior.

Based on what you are saying, the Magi who visited Jesus as a baby are therefore evil, and Jesus himself is evil, since he did perform acts that could easily be considered magic or sorcery. Heck, even Moses in Egypt could be considered a sorcerer by that same logic when he outdid Pharoah's own magicians.

Also, the Bible has been translated so many times, from the original Hebrew to modern English and many different forms of English at that, that certain words and phrases in the original texts don't translate well from one language to another. But it is widely believed by Biblical scholars that in the verse "suffer not a witch to live", the original word was really 'poisoner' which is where we get the modern word 'pharmacist'. In that case, I guess we'll have to ban hospitals and drug stores too?

Whoa there, you need to chill out. First and foremost you need to understand that when the bible was written everything was in a different context. It has only been in the last 500 or so years that religious leaders have started making those kind of connections. Superstitions were very much a part of peoples lives. Everyting from fertility rites to planting calendars were some sort of horoscope/psychic ability. Are you sure you aren't with the Spanish Inquisition?

Matthew 2 (New International Version)

The Visit of the Magi

1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi[a] from the east came to Jerusalem

2 and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east[b] and have come to worship him."

3 When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.

4 When he had called together all the people's chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ[c] was to be born.

5 "In Bethlehem in Judea," they replied, "for this is what the prophet has written:

6 " 'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler
who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.'[d]"

7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared.

8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him."

9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east[e] went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.

10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.

11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.

12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.

yes there is a direct refrence to paganism and that which was also a pre-concieved veiw on the paganistic tribes which had there homes around israel at the time. but thats all what alot of what that prophet says is based on, his views of the neighbouring beliefs.

I'd rather burn for eternity in "hell" for practising my religion, and living the way I believe the GODDESS wants me to, than to Call myself Christian, and go to church to "be like everyone else."

BTW, are you Familiar with Matthew Chapter 6? Specifically Chapters 1 and 2?

Why not go back to that book that you're SO fond of quoting, and RE READ that part.

Hmmm wasn't jesus's birth known far and wide because of a star? and the astrologers of various religions knew someone very special was coming because of astrology, gifts of the magi and such.
