kills brain cells and for every joint you smoke it is equal to smoking a whole pack of cigarettes.

I say, use it responsibly. Consume small quantities of each on each outing. Don't overdo it. It takes 45-60 minutes or longer to affect your brain and body function.
Short term effects are relaxation, memory loss, increased sense of humour (that can be great . . . LOL), intense hunger ("the munchies") . . . you've likely heard about; change in judgement (inhibitions loosened, like alcohol)
After you had some pot in your system-you'll find it's easier to get a high the next time. It will depend on the quality of the pot, where it was grown etc. Fewer side effects than tobacco or alcohol use.
Socially, it can be dangerous, because it can (and will) lead to use of other drugs that could be harmful. Also, someone could offer you a joint that could have another drug in it that you are not aware of, and to which you may react adversely.
In Canada, cannabis is "legalized" for medical use: pain relief, treatment of eye disorders such as glaucoma and legalized for use for patients with AIDS.
I think people should be more informed of the positive effects that cannabis can have. And you should research it further.

There are many long-term effects of chronic marijuana use, such as memory problems, impaired driving, immunosupression, decreased testosterone, lower sperm counts, increased heart rate and problems with attention. Some feel it creates a "amotivational syndrome", that is, decreased interest in energy and achieving. But by far the most dangerous side effect of regular pot use is its effect on the lungs. It contains 5 to 15 times the amount of benzpyrene, a known carcinogen, than tobacco smoke. It is associated with increased rates of bronchitis, upper respiratory infections as well as cancer of the mouth. Regular smokers of pot also develop the same type of damage to the cells lining the airways and lungs that occurs with cigarette smoke. This damage can lead to obstructive pulmonary diseases. Finally, don't count on finding a "medicine" that will cover up your pot use. Not only doesn't it work very well but the labs are testing for these kinds of adulterants now. So you'd get bagged anyway.

Do not listen to anyone else. If you use marijuana RESPONSIBLY and don't over do it you will be fine.
Side effects.....dizzy, impaired vision, tired, hungry, ect ect.
Joints suck...
Bongs KICK ***..
If you are having a planned smoking session with some pals pull out the bong. If you just need to quickly smoke, or are just with one other friend, a joint is a good idea.
Pipes are nice too, they are very portable.
I do not smoke marijuana, and I am not encouraging you to smoke. :)

Over 90% of the population has tried it. It is not considered a "serious" drug by most people. Like drinking one should wait until they are an adult in my opinion.
