I have one shutoff for my clothes washer that has two supply openings, these are copper and threaded. I have used pvc adapters ( one end treaded, the other female)to take it from copper to plastic. When I use Oaty all purpose cement and primer it start to leak with 6 hours. I used plenty of cement and let it sit for 3 hours to dry, and also made sure to seat the pipe and twist the 1/3 to make sure it was in. Any other ideas how to make this connection. Thank you .

Sounds like you did it right. The only thing I have not done is used the combo. Now years back the cement for abs and pvc was not compatible. If you didn't put Oaty on both pipe and fitting, you should have. If you did. Go back to the store, buy a new fitting, and buy a can of primer and a can of cement. You could have used a faulty fitting, or the combo stuff didn't work. One other thing, make sure the pipe and fitting fit tightly while dry. Then pull them apart, and glue them again. after twisting, hold pressure against them for about a minuet.

first off toss the grey pipe....get white fittings..pvc.
get a pcp pipe cleaning bottle...(usually is purple and very smelly)
also some pvc cement...(also smelly and very sticky)
also some regular plumbers sealing compound(NOT TEFLON TAPE) but its a white or grey tube that you put on the threads...and tighten very tight.......after that use the cleaning stuff and swab the inside conector of the pvc....wait about a min then add glue(to both arts of the pvc pipe clean and glue)

Try using the white pvc pipe, because it holds to glue better than the gray. also, if it leaks where its threaded together, try using liquid teflon.

it quite is "Pex" tubing. "Pex" being the style call.... it comes on a roll, and is somewhat versatile. it quite is used via various cellular homestead manufacturers, because of the fact it quite is extra value-effective than cpvc or copper....yet their savings is your rate. It expenses extra to maintain, or replace than cpvc plumbing. working example, a plastic compression installation made to artwork with Pex sort plumbing expenses two times as much as a brass installation that would want for use on copper or cpvc plumbing. The Pex plumbing is positioned including copper bands...which desire a crimping device to place in them. The crimping device runs approximately $one hundred, once you will detect one. without understanding what the 'black stuff' is, its confusing to declare the place it quite is coming from, yet you may desire to objective an entire homestead water clear out. installation it on the component the place the water enters your place, often an in depth off valve close to the kitchen, or water heater, under the homestead. If the black stuff is in only the nice and comfortable water strains, then it is coming from the nice and comfortable water heater. despite if it quite is in the two strains tho, then it would be coming from the availability source, i might think of. stable luck
