That's what I thought when I was in school...Guess what! I actually DO USE IT EVERYDAY! For so many different thing's and most importantly taking care of my finance's! Stick with it. Good luck!

The educators and the government are hoping that math will take with some of you and you will pursue this as a career. Then you can save the world with math and science! Engineer us into a perfect world!! Like you said, why torture everyone!!!! ??? Just wait until you get to calc and trig! I would rather lick the devil's left nut than sit through that again, especially at the college level.

If you don't mind paying for you burger and a fry with a twenty and getting one dollar and ninety-two cents back, then don't learn it. You gonna carry a calculator with you all the time? O-mayvbe you do, with a pocket protector. Then again you may not like burgers and fries since you will be smelling like them all day.

I know it seems boring, but think of it this way:
You enjoy your computer, right?
You enjoy answers.yahoo.com, correct?
That's a combination of hardware and software that the bulk is placed upon mathmatics, physics, and a little chemistry.
Math might be boring, but it's not only important for science, it's good for your brain to be conditioned to elementary logic and reasoning.
Don't get too frusterated, we ALL have had to go through it at one point in our lives!

Help with thinking skills. You learn how to count and you need to know it so you can balance a checkbook, don't get cheated out of money, etc.

You will to understand chemistry and physics. Don't give up on math, it will help you in the real world.
