Definitely before. There is nothing scarier than childbirth, and both parents should have the opportunity to experience it together. With our first, it was just me & hubby... we were stationed halfway across the country from both our fams. With our second, my mom flew out to be with us, so it was much better. Either way, I think that if there's any way to have the hubby there, then have him there! Even if it means him taking a full month of leave starting a week before your due date LOL.

My husband left for Iraq a month ago, and I found out a few days ago that I'm 2 months pregnant. So technically, I guess during his deployment. Luckily though, he can come home for 2 weeks when the baby is due.

LOL, most women who are going to get deployed get knocked up by ANYONE who will shag them and then they get to go home on pregnancy leave and get an abortion in the second trimester, then get time to recover, and by that time, it's time to move on to somewhere else, or repeat the cycle.
