1. Exhaust Leak
2. Lifter Noise
3. Something hitting something under the hood.
Does the noise increase as you rev the engine ? and are you driving when you hear it or are you parked?
Need more information to lead you in the right direction EMAIL me if you need more help.

change your oil and do not use a fram filter, see if the noise is gone. If so the fram filter caused your problem. if not you may have noisey lifters or other engine noises, but with out hearing the noise, it is really hard to exactly tell you. AS persay the fram filter comment. I have seen way to many gm engines with lifter noises caused by believe it or not Fram filters.
Buy a Wix or Napa gold filter, which is a rebranded Wix filter or use a AC Delco oil filter

in case you probably did no longer bend the physique, I heavily doubt that your automobile is totaled. you will want a clean hood, fenders, middle help, radiator, headlights and a few different little issues. All of that stuff is decrease than $a million,000 plus the exertions and paint. in all probability decrease than $5000 in harm. No coverage corporation is going to finished your automobile for that. in case you bent the physique then you definately could be observing an excellent greater fix invoice, yet seeing as the form you slid under yet another automobile, I heavily doubt which you bent the physique. particularly in case you probably did no longer hit complicated sufficient to make the airbags bypass off. oftentimes, an coverage corporation will finished a automobile if the wear and tear is greater effective than 0.5 of the autos fee. i can very almost assure you which you probably did no longer try this a lot harm.

Depends on where it's ticking, upper end, sounds like a rocker knock, pray for this one. Lower end is going to be a main bearing, and then it's time for a rebuild or a replacement.

How long has it been since you changed it? if more than 5k, you better add some Bardol or Rislone to clean it up. then change it again after 1k
