If one test was positive yesterday and one was negative today which one should I trust? Should I just go ahead and get a blood test or act as if I am and just wait to see if I start my period? My baby is almost two months old and I still have not started my period since having her and I do not breastfeed and my husband have used spermicide and condoms which have broken so what should I do?

Was one of the one that came out positive an early response test maybe? False negatives are much much much more common than false positives. I would either go back and buy two of one kind (doesn't matter which, they all test for the same hormone. Just some are early response, which means that they can read lower amounts of the hormones.), and use them when you first get up in the morning, when the tests are supposed to be most accurate. They'll probably both get the same result, and that result is probably accurate.

Or, call your OB/GYN and have them do the test.

I had a post-partum pregnancy scare too, when my IUD slipped out of place, and my periods never came back.

My son is nearing 8 months and I still have no period. My dr said it is fine, because I have the IUD in, and that is an effect of that.

Good luck!

the store brands are just as accurate. However, diff. tests test for diff. levels of HCG. So one of the tests may only need like 25hcg and the other would need 50 or more. You may only have very little so the one that needs less would show and the other wouldnt...lol if that makes sense. Also you could just have the pregnancy hormone still in your body from being pregnant, sometimes it takes a while to get out of your system. The best thing to do is make a doc. appointment and talk with your doc. about it. They will do a blood test and if that comes out pos. they will probably take further action to make sure that you are and just dont still have the hormone in your body. Which would probably be the ultrasound to determain. Well I hope that made some sense to you and I hope that everything works out well for you and congrats on your new baby!

Yes store brands are just as good as the name brands. If you got a positive test yesterday then Congratulations! Its possible that the test you used first was a more sensitve test to read positive at this time and the next test was not as sensitive to measure the same amount of HCG.

I think generic pregnancy tests are just as accurate. I used the walmart brand and it was accurate. But if you are getting conflicting results, I would go to the drs. and get a blood test. This way you will have an accurate answer.

First of all, don't panic. you're period is always screwed up after child birth. Get a dollar store p test, they ARE ACCURATE---believe me. take one tomorrow. however sometimes the levels in your body are still unbalanced from giving birth that a pregnancy test may show positive when its really a negative because of your levels.
