Are you telling me it is safe for me to come up from the basement and find something to eat that isn't powdered or in a can?

For hundreds of years people have been predicting the end of the world when only God knows when it will happen. I thought Y2K was a big joke and the people running around like chickens with their heads cut off were being foolish. I wasn't disappointed or surprised when nothing happened.

I worked for 2 years revising computer programs so they'd work fine for Y2K. I was expecting everything to be okay and was very happy it all went smoothly.

Not at all.
However major catastrophs are on going. See Afghansitan, Iraq, Lebanon, Chechnya etc. Uranium depleted bullets, 20,000 pound bombs on wedding parties and restoration of heroin from Afghansitan (OPver 60% of worl supply) by CIA and Mossad are major catastrophes if one really think

Oh, I was kinda ready for life to get alittle simpler again. Hell if I couldn't buy gas I'd get a Horse. I always knew we would survive.
However since 9-11 I am so glad it didn't happen. We'da been screwed bigtime!

I think my dad was. The generator, the supplies and the worry he did ended without a whimper.

As soon as you seen Asia make midnight without a problem, you knew nothing was going to happen.

No. I was in a bad neighbourhood at the time, and was dreading having to protect myself from looters.
Also we'd probably have frozen to death!
