I did not see flies inside of the various places I visited that used them. Some say it reflects a flies' image and repels them. Is it possible? If so, how?

This practice has also made it to Louisiana and Mississippi, and I've seen it used in several places. The explanation that I've received is that flies are highly sensitive to movement (this is true and can be verified on several entymological websites; houseflies have highly evolved senses for detecting nearby movement), and will not hang around in an area with large moving objects, as they have a hard time distinguishing natural movement from the movement of a predator.

The bag of water refracts light that passes through it, acting as a giant lens (this much, at least, is definitely true). Supposedly, small evironmental movements are amplified by the "lens" of the bag, scaring the flies away.

I haven't actually seen this work, but I've met several people who swear by it. I've actually been thinking of conducting a small experiment to determine whether or not it's really effective for detering flies. Please email me through my profile if you find any actual documentation on the phenomenon. I'd be interested to know about it.

i imagine if someone suggested that to you they were probable kidding. Did they teach you an section that develop into freed from flies because it had baggies of water over the doorway? because the idea of a saggy is to make a closed field that no longer some thing can get out of or into, a saggy seems an exceedingly weird and wonderful determination for a repelling technique. in case you want to dangle some thing, attempt classic sticky flypaper. They land on it and get stuck. Periodically you're taking down the former one and positioned up a sparkling one. you could locate that's operating depending on the style of flies stuck there. you could also attempt preserving your homestead sparkling through throwing away trash and preserving counters washed. That makes the homestead a lot less likely to entice flies in the first position.

If the image of a fly repeled flies then you wouldn't see a bunch of them together in one place. So if it works i wouldnt think that would be the reason. I have seen that before too with flies all around it. I dont think it works but i guess it could.

My grandmother did this all the time. She said the baggies looked like a wasps' nest and the flies avoided them.I don't remember any flies in her house so it just might work.
