I applied for child support through the Division of Child Support Enforcement (DCSE) at the beginning of July. I haven't heard anything about it...and they won't give me any information when I call.

Does anyone know what could be taking so long? Is there a way to speed up the process? Would I be better off trying to take the father to court than going through DCSE?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much!!

Okay....some background for those of you who feel the need to judge someone you don't know.

I take damn good care of my child...all alone, no help from anyone. I work a MINIMUM of 50 hours a week....therefore, I have to put my child in preschool---which costs about $500/month. I'm not trying to get rich....I just want him to be responsible for his child, just as I AM.

Oh...and as for this wonderful man, he lied to me for years. While I was working and raising our son, he was out making other babies with other women--drinking and spending money on video games. On my son's birthday, he did not give him ONE present--but he bought himself $200 worth of games....

I'd appreciate it, if you did NOT assume that I am just another worthless female trying to get revenge.

you're not in any respect too previous to carry your father and mom' hand. Like some solutions indicated above, some choose they nonetheless might want to! i do not recognize why human beings look at issues the way that they do. it really is a foul component. it truly is once you do not mission about what human beings imagine, and do what you opt for to because deep down, they are probable wishing they could do an same component!

Just be aware, our payroll lady at work was just telling me that usually when she gets a garnishment order for child support the employee resigns shortly after. Then the court has to take a few months to find him again and get another garnishment order and then he will jump jobs again. Especially if he has lots of kids by different mothers, a huge portion of his check will get garnished and he will try to avoid that. I'm sorry you are in this situation and good luck to you.

First check with the clerk of courts in your area and see if a claim has been filed with them.

Second If the father is blocking the the claim you just might have to take him to court again check with the ckerk of courts.

Third Check with the DCSA and make sure theyv'e started any paper work or action.

Forth You may have to get a lawyer to speed things up

Hope this helps

Well you know you ought to look into those two jerks who said such really unhelpful and completely not within your question parameters, you get me.
On the other thing.
sign up for welfare, they will find him. for you , they will take him to court for you, and they will garnish his pay, take it directly from his pay to their offices and deposit it and cut you a check. And they will always know where he is.
sign up for welfare of some kind. You are eligible for something. You are divorced with a child on your own. Yep you should be eligible for food stamps at least or wic vouchers. I am NOT telling you to rip off the government. I am telling you this is a sure fire way of finding and making him pay. Really it is the only way I have ever seen work. You get the feds in on it and they never quit.

I would do whatever it takes to get his wages attached. If DCSE isn't moving fast enough, time to get a lawyer. For the mothers out there you have young children and their father is deceased get yourself to the Social Security office. You are intitled to a monthly check until your child turns 18.

My son was six before they finally did any thing, then his father went out and killed him self so I never got a penny. I all I can say is good luck getting anything, even if you get an order your child's "father" does not sound like he will ever pay anything. He sounds to much like my sons "father". Worthless.

Take him to court and have his wages garnished. If it's going to take this long then speed it up through the court system. He's nothing more than a dead beat dad....

Make a date with your court to see the magistrate, you will be appointed a free legal attorney and have the law drag his dead beat azz there and make him pay out his little selfish nose holes.

First, do not assume he is working. If he is not working, you won't get any child support. If he is in jail, you won't get any support. If he is in the hospital you won't get any support.

The offices can be overloaded. In today's society, there are so many women like yourself engaged in promiscuous sex, then expecting the slave chasers to run him down and make him work for you, that they can't get it all done.
