I am very serious about this question and yes, I know that one man's terrorist may be another person's freedom fighter so I do not have any preconceived notions about anyone's definition of a terrorist here. For many people living in Muslim or Middle Eastern countries, the terrorists are the Israelis and the US government. My hope here is to create bridges to understanding and roads to peace. I am putting this question in Other, social sciences but if anybody here can suggest a more appropriate place, please let me know.

Use your imagination, people. I don't expect any of you to go out and talk to a terrorist although I do know people -- they are called Christian Peacemaker Teams and they go to places in the Middle East such as Iraq and live among the people there and try to get to know and understand them. All I am asking is that IF IT WERE POSSIBLE, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO A TERRORIST.to help bring about a rapproachment between you and him/her. And FU isn't going to do it.

Anything I'd have to say, would probably get me killed. I'm not so sure why they're mad because of our freedoms. Jealous maybe, or hating. But either way, being that the country is so far away, I don't see how we could've affected them. Clearly we're not getting the whole story from our government or on the attacks themselves. I have no idea what our government does to their daily life, and perhaps there is some oppression there. It wouldn't be right for me to try to take a stand in something, where I have limited or perhaps misguided information and knowledge on the subject matter. I'm not mad, we all feel some form of oppression in government. But if you'll really look up the definition, you'll find a government is something designed to orchestrate control within a region. When you have someone trying to control another, obviously everyone's will is not going to be met, so the last deciding factor is, Who is most assertive? Speaking that America is this superpower, one would assume that we'd clearly wipe them all across the globe when it came to military interactions. As I said before, I don't know what they have to go through, or what they want, or don't want, the American populous to do on the matter. Apparently, we're at risk for our governments orchestrations, so that'd make it seem very important for us to have the right people in office. This is very difficult speaking on how they choose their own cabinet members, like minds if you will, and have a certain orthodox situation to go through, enforced by other houses of congress and other old, white, conservative politicians it'd be very difficult to try anything new in government, even if one wanted to. I'm not mad at the system. I know how irrational large groups of people can be, perhaps moreso than the politicans themselves. Which would make it a good thing. All I know is that with government agencies like the CIA and such at work, we'll never truly know what's going on in Current events, or the full story behind them. The government has a job of keeping control in their country rather than being fully honest and true. I'm sure in a conflict of the two they'd pick the former. It's why they change the history books. Order and control must be maintained. It's not the best way for things to be, but it's still early on in USA's development. We've only been around since 1774. Perhaps eventually. With time and technology, from transition from primitive to advanced, we'll find an equilibrium within our governments as well, and have peace.

I would tell him that he is just a puppet used by his master so that he can profit financially from what the terrorist thinks is a honorable act. I will tell the terrorist that he is just a mindless pawn, and that his leader most likely does not believe what he preaches, which is why he lives a life of luxury while the terrorist is poor and will die blowing up innocent people for no justifiable cause. I would tell the terrorist that killing innocent people makes him a coward and makes Islam look not like a religion of peace, but a religion that blows people to pieces.

There isn't any ban, it's only well overseas coverage that if a man or woman of a lesser vigour sits down to barter with the President, that a few pre-stipulations exist to make it valued at our at the same time, or else it's needless and simplest supply credence to a or else terrorist chief. I do not consider we could take a seat down and negotiate with say Bhuto Bujiandad an African Tribal chief who's killing 1000's as a style of overseas coverage. That could imply as a way to get a take a seat down with the President of the United States, you simply have got to emerge as a mass homicide and declare that your honest to your motive.

Good of you to recognize that. We've got 1,000 leaders screaming "these guys hit us first" when this stuff has been going on for hundereds or thousands of years - who's to know who hit whom first?
(Although there is one group I'm looking into more than others right now.)

I don't really know what I would do if it were one of those real terrorists... I don't thikn they'd listen to me - to them I am listed as being sub-human.

There are so many things to say, and considering that I may only have a few moments of their time, it's important to make the important points. So here goes...

We are not against you personally. We are not against your religion. We do not believe you are less human than we are. We are not out to eliminate your culture or your people. The reasons we fight against you have nothing to do with these things.

We fight against you because you choose to violate the liberty of others. Because you choose to take the lives of persons that have not transgressed against you, all in the name of God. It is the choices you have made that force us to make the choices we have made. For life, liberty, and the pursuit of freedom - this is why we fight against you. We will always act to protect these things. We do not wish to kill you, but if you continue to stand in the way of the things we protect, we certainly will.

It is 2006, the Middle Ages have ended. Get over yourself.
