My husband is currently deployed in Iraq. He left 1 month ago. I found out a few days ago that I'm 2 months pregnant. What are some interesting ways to let him know I'm pregnant. It would have to be something I can mail him, email him, or say over the phone, since he won't be home until October 2007.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

To Smart_Blonde: Yes it's his baby, he only left 1 month ago and I'm 2 months pregnant. You do the math!
We have been married for almost 3 years now. This will be our first child, and I want to make the announcement memorable.

congratulations!!!!
send him a baby book and ask him to let you know his favorite names for both a boy and a girl. I'm sure you will get a phone call or email shortly after he opens the mail. then continue with pictures of the new baby stuff, even with choices so he can be included too.

Send the pregnency test through the mail.. make sure you put the directions in there so he will know what the lines mean.. and maybe a card or something made out to "you'll be a great dad' or something like that....
Congratulations!
or maybe since you email... take a picture of the positive test and send it as an attatchment to the email...!

Oh wow! First, congratulations! It will be hard on you going through this pregnancy by yourself; hopefully you have family and friends to lean on.
Send him a picture of an empty wine glass. Next, send a picture of the wine glass full of water or some other clear liquid. Next, send a picture of the wine glass with a pacifier in the liquid. If he hasn't gotten the message by then, have a picture of your first sonogram with the pacifier and a short message saying he's going to be a father. Hopefully, he'll get it before you get to the sonogram picture.

Congratulations!!! Thats so awesome. im so sorry that he wont be there for the birth but im sure hes going to make a great dad and you a great mom. Maybe for christmas or something like maybe his birthday or yall's anniversary you could send him a video covering every term and and your belly growth. start telling him about all your different cravings or something like that. Oh, or you could go to the base and go to the post or whatever and buy a little onesie that says "i love my marine" or whichever branch hes in. i know its not much but maybe you will get a good idea. Hope this helps and congrats again.

Send him a medium sized box with a smaller box in it and a smaller box in that one and so on until he gets to the smallest box with a pair of baby booties, a pacifier, or a rattle in it. If you choose a rattle it will puzzle the heck out of him when he shakes it to figure out what it may be. However it might take a while to get the package to him. My husband is in the army and sometimes it took quite a while for mail to reach him.

I have several ideas.tell him that you are going to send him some items by mail that he might need.you pack some stuff but at the bottom of box you have a rattle and booties in there. If you don't like that get an ultra sound done and send a picture of the baby.last but not least, when talking to him on phone be talking and ease it in there.

I would wait until you have your ultrasound. Then send the ultrasound pictures hidden a stack of other pictures of yourself. Write a message on the back. Something like, "Hi, Dad! Aren't I cute?" Then add, "Congratulations, honey. Meet your son/daughter, who is due to arrive _______ (due date)." You are sure to get a phone call!

I had a friend in the same situation, she sent a card to her husband that was a come home soon card...signed .."I love you Daddy, cant wait till you come home..me and mommy miss you". Also in there was a camo onsie that said "I'm gonna be a soldier like my daddy".... He called as soon as he got it in tears and was home in time for the birth. (be sure and tape the birth for him if he cant be there)
CONGRATS by the way!!!

A picture frame with a cute poem about how it will be filled in 9 months...I did that for the grandmas and they loved it, I think a dad would too:)
PS ...place the poem in the frame, not separate
