I asked about my baby's name in the baby category and got some rude responses lol. Maybe I can get some Celtic loving people to answer me this time. I wanted a Celtic name for my baby that is due in Feb. My daughter's name is plane and my son's is Haydon quinn which I like but I had hard time coming up with it. So for you Celtic/Gaelic and so lovers so to speak what do you think of
Braedon Cael? Some people said that would be hard to pronounce although I can't see why. Should I spell it Brayden who that halp avoid confusion? I kinda like the unique spelling.

You shouldn't care what others think about your baby's name, but you should care what he thinks of his own name. Studies have found that children with unusual names have a harder time socializing with others. Maybe you could compromise by finding a Celtic name that can be shortened or given a nickname that is more common sounding. Just something to consider.

I would assume you already know, but just in case you don't, Braedon and Brayden, are both variations of Braden, an Irish surname which was derived from Ó Bradáin meaning "descendent of Bradan". The name Bradan derives from a Gaelic word meaning "salmon". Cael is from Gaelic caol "slender". In Irish legend Cáel was a warrior of the Fianna and the lover of Créd.

I like the way you spelled it first, it is unique. Braedon Cael, I don't see where it would be hard to pronounce. If someone has a problem with it just correct them, and I am sure they will remember the next time. Good names. Happy baby coming day!!!

I like Brayden or Braydon or even Braden. Braedon likes like it's misspelled. Cael is cool, it's different.

My parents deliberately picked an "American" spelling for my first name but I still lived with the nightmare of everyone (and their dog) screwing up my last name. Why did they Americanize my first name? You guessed it, because they didn't want people screwing it up so I vote for Brayden.
