Not just in regards to my own questions, but I've read ?'s from others where the people answering are just lecturing!
A mother was asking a question about baby formula and got a few lectures on how she should be breastfeeding!
Even as something as trivial as asking a question about celebrities will get you a "don't you have more important things to think about?" responses!
Geez!
It's as if the ones that do that just LOOK for the opportunity to scold someone, not really answer a question.

Every individual (in their head) is smarter than everybody else, so theyre actually doing the world a FAVOR by putting their lectures on this fine website. You should be grateful to them and kissing their feet. Because we are all special =D

Yahoo Answers may be the only place that folks have the opportunity to spout off. I agree that arrogance is bothersome. I would take many of these "lectures" with a grain of salt.

Don't let any of us disturb your peace! :-)

I think by changing the name it would not describe the aims for this yahoo tool so I would say no. You can shape and influence the community by voting poorly for these lectures and scoldings, apparently. BTW your mum should breastfeed, breast is best :P

Yeah, people can be like that, but I find there to be fewer of those people and more people who are truly answering a question. People who lecture deserve an eye roll and to be disregarded.

When you ask a question you can always expect answers you may not like and when someone answers you intelligently expect them to explain themselves about how they answered and why sometimes. You always have the ability to rate an answer as do we all. I suggest you exercise that right to rate the answers.
