Symptoms of Ear Mites in Rabbits Include:
* accumulation of light brown crusty material in the ear canal
* head shaking
* ear flapping
* irritated ear tissue
* scartching of the ears
* head tilting
* eye spasms
1. In some cases, the ears require a thorough cleaning before treatment. An anesthetic may be necessary in severe cases to allow complete cleaning.
2. The mites can crawl to other parts of your pet's body. Therefore, a topical insecticide may be prescribed, depending upon your pet's age, state of health and severity of the disease.
3. All pets exposed to the affected animal need to be treated to prevent reoccurrence.
4. Medication: Several forms of medications are available. In mild cases, mineral oil or over-the-counter pet store preparations may be sufficient. In severe cases, it is advisable to treat with prescription medications. Your veterinarian can help determine the best medications to treat and hopefully prevent reoccurrences.
5. Activity: If possible, keep your pet separated from the pets that are not infected.
Watch for these signs
* Your pet develops a head tilt or loss of balance.
* Your pet vomits or refuses to eat.
* Your pet's general health changes.
First try mineral oil in your bunnie's ear. Just a few drops of it from dropper. Mites don't like it. If you still see no signs of recovery go to your local pet store and try a product that will help with mites.
I hope I've helped you.

It could be mites and it could also be an ear infection. We had a Holland Lop that shook his head and pulled at his ear and it turned out the he had an ear infection. It would be best to take him to a rabbit savvy vet.
Here is a link to information on ear problems in rabbits:

This same site has a link to rabbit savvy vets in case you don't have one.

If you can, look into his ears. If they are clean, then it is not ear mites. If they have a brown, dirty look to them, then it's probably the mites. You can get drops at the vet's office, or you may even be able to buy them at a pet store or feed store.

Maybe his fur on his ears have touched the ground too much and that triggers off an itchy feeling. If he has ear mites, you can see and feel the mites on his ears.

Hey...
Your best bet is to take care of both. It is kinda painfull for them but get some tweezers and pluck the hair aout of his ears.
Then go to your local Vet and ask them for some ear mite meds.
GOOD LUCK

The problem could be any of those things. To be sure i recommend you take him to your vet. and ask his/her advice about what the problem is and how to solve it.
