Yes, but it would depend on the nature of the deformity, and I would feel much better if it was caught before the quickening. I should mention that I don't believe in any God, and prior to the quickening shortly into the second trimester, when the nervous system "boots up", there is no person from my philosophical understanding. I also would not hesitate to terminate an unwanted pregnancy in the first trimester.

Down's Syndrome, retardation or Cystic Fibrosis or Chronic Renal Insufficiency would just be cruel to the child, the first two permanently ruin their ability to function or even live life as completely human, the latter two entail a life of terrible pain and an almost certain early death.

A club foot, fused fingers or hermaphroditism, on the other hand, one can live with and work around. I knew a fellow in high school with arms and legs heavily atrophied and underveloped down to stumps on the ends. He was able to walk with the leg muscles he had on prostheses and manipulate things in a limited way with the arms that he had. Life wasn't always pleasant, but I think it was bearable for him.

Of course I wouldn't get the final say as I would only be the father.

In most cases I would abort. Although people would state that it would be selfish of me and also maybe I am a tiny bit selfish, I am also thinking about the baby should anything happen to me or the baby's father. Should my baby suddenly be orphaned in any way, I don't think there are many people out there who would like to be burdened by a deformed baby and I certainly don't want my baby to be in an orphanage. Not in my country where the orphanages are lacking in many ways. I also believe that my baby would have trouble growing in terms of taking care of himself/herself. How could he/she secure a good job placement when employers here aren't fair eventhough my child has an excellent college education. I have a whole lot of worries to be thinking about such as taking after my baby financially because they need special care etc, but to cut it short, the answer to my question is yes, I would abort although I would feel terrible after that and regret it but I would do it all over again in the same way.

How deformed?

If there was any chance the baby would live outside the womb, I would carry her to term. If there was no chance, I would abort. Chances are the baby would die before term anyway and I would never want to have to be induced into labor to give birth to an already dead child or have a c section.

if i were a woman and it was only a deformity on looks no. if it were a condition or syndrome that would affect their thought process and significantly shorten their lifespan then yes.
