I am a district campaign manager for a democrat running for congress. In my district we have a racist area. Kind of like where they had the Rodney King trial. A lot believe me.
Anyway an eighty five year old African American female wants to do precinct walks there. It is like sending Rosa Parks to do precinct walks at a Klan Rally.
I am scared the walk might not be good for her health; mentally or physically. What do I do?

Go with her, take a stand. Whatever happens, you'll be remembered for your courage.

This women didn't get to be eighty years old by being weak and feeble! It takes alot of strength to get to that age. She will be fine, it's not going to be anything she has never heard before or shocking to her. Don't ever underestimate an older person. I find the older I get the more people tend to talk to me like im some sort of idiot and they are somehow smarter than I am. Its annoying and degrading! Leave her be and she will get along just fine. Give her a cell phone in case of emergency but other than that, don't worry.

She's a brave lady. Let her do it. I'll bet she knows exactly what she's getting into. It should shame those racists into being respectful or at least leaving her alone. Contact the police and see if you can get a police escort. I would also ask a news reporter to cover the walk.
